IDSCU

Data methodology

IDSCU publishes records through a controlled release process. Source files are hashed, validated and preserved before any public database changes.

Sector classification

Records whose education category is K-12 Education enter the schools database and receive a K12- identifier. Records whose category is Postsecondary Education enter the colleges and universities database and receive a PS- identifier. Cross-sector website or name similarities are flagged for review and never merged automatically.

Validation and publication

Each release checks required fields, unique identifiers and slugs, country codes, JSON fields, record counts, search coverage and detail-page routing. Changes are loaded into staging first. Production is published only after both sector databases and the search projection agree on counts and content hashes.

Updates and corrections

Updates compare stable per-record hashes, so unchanged records are not rewritten. Potential removals are retained for review rather than deleted automatically.
