Institution overview
The National University of Singapore is a comprehensive university whose origins lie in a medical school established in 1905. The present NUS was formed in 1980 through the merger of the University of Singapore and Nanyang University. Its history therefore includes both an earlier educational foundation and a later institutional reorganisation. NUS offers undergraduate degrees, graduate coursework and research programmes, professional education and lifelong learning. Its academic coverage includes humanities, social sciences, business, computing, engineering, design, science, medicine, law and public policy.
